Imagine listening to a beautiful tune. Imagine there is no rhythm to it. Difficult, isn't it? Of course, it is. A tune without rhythm is a never ending random flow that drives the listener crazy. Rhythm regulates the flow, frames it, and adds structure to it all. This is how music forms.
To me Life is the Tune and Holidays are the Rhythm.
Once somebody said to me that he "hated holidays". To him they were just a bunch of obligations, nothing else. On the contrary, I have always shared the thought of the internationally famous Hungarian writer and journalist: "Holidays are profoundly and magically extraordinary."
A little more unusual, sublime, cheerful, or in some cases slower and more contemplative than those "normal days". Its power and magic stems from there.
Now that the Holiday Season is fast approaching I welcome young and forever-young people in my studio, to have their celebratory portraits taken. They wear elegant outfits and high spirits.
Because there is always, always a reason and a moment to pause and celebrate.
